KING Baddama Attatooda

Deelightful’s snobbish, mean, bloated, overprotective, very overweight, and extremely controlling royal father. He runs a large armada of water vessels, some of the grandest on the seas.

His Mile High Club on the Isla de Opulence serves as a glittering façade, hiding the gritty underbelly of dirty industries that are polluting the planet. Under the guise of education and the promise of prosperity and a better life, the King accepts destitute children and instead puts them to work in his mines and factories, effectively enslaving the underprivileged in the name of profit.

He had some relationship and conflict with Holiday’s father, and only late in the story do we learn that the King was, in fact, responsible for Holiday being fatherless for most of his young life.  

Deelightful Attatooda

Known to her friends as “Dee,” this shapely and exquisitely beautiful daughter of King Baddama Attatooda, is Holiday’s first love.

Being that she was born without one fully developed leg Dee has a prosthetic limb (peg leg) centered with a highly advanced wheel that allows her to do amazing feats and dances.

She is a very confident, outgoing and often over-indulged young woman who bores easily and, due to her status as daughter of the king, does not long want for much or suffer fools. Self-possessed, Dee likes to keep the sun up and is smitten with Holiday. A recurring vignette is tied to her name, e.g., “I am Deelightful,” to which any number of characters respond, “”You sure are” or “Goes without saying.”

Queen Regal Attatooda

Deelightful’s mother, and prime protector. A frequent shopper on Rodeo Drive and the avenues of Paris, she prefers St. Barts, spa days, and expensive cuisine to anything she can find in her private palace on the secluded Isla de Opulence. Stern to the point of cracking, driven by a desire to yield power and seldom uttering a word that won’t best serve herself, the Queen carries on a hidden life, sheltered from even her husband, and inevitably pays the ultimate price. 

Mim

Dee's minder. Over-protective harpy who is glued to Deelightful’s side, and reports all of Dee’s transgressions directly to her mother, the Queen. Conspires with the Queen to keep Dee away from Holiday. 

Gracie

Dee’s Handmaiden. Dee’s servant, friend and confidante. Helps the Princess escape from her parents and meet with Holiday.
